Looking for volunteer hosts

Folks,
I'm looking for volunteer hosts throughout Allegany County willing to invite friends and associates to their home for an evening of open discussion about local issues and possible solutions. I will facilitate the evening, and am willing to supply pizza, etc. If you are\truly concerned about the future of Allegany County, we need to begin to formulate citizen input based plans. A need for transparency

I am one who believes whole-heartedly that government must be open and totally accessible. Equal to all of the other duties of government, is a responsibility to communicate the process of those duties. Openness, or transparency, of government is a vital function of democracy. Democracy works only when we have a well-informed public, and to be well-informed, we need transparency in government. There should be no secret meetings, no secret decisions, and no misleading statements.
In the U.S. we use a form of Representative Democracy. Representatives are elected to act in the people’s interest, but not as their proxies, not necessarily always matching the wishes of the public, and with the right to act swiftly and resolutely. To truly govern properly though, you need the people’s consent. To give the public too little information, and right to comment, government dooms itself to paranoia and an appearance of wrong-doing. In the words of Abraham Lincoln, democracy is a government “of the people, by the people, and for the people”.
